Today’s libraries fall into non-traditional, special roles.  Serving different communities, professionals, populations and interests like medical, law, museum and research libraries.  Public Libraries serve needs of local communities, which surround it.  These libraries often use digital or virtual presences by allowing users to search collections online while uploading digitized images and special reference collections.  The IPL (Internet Public Library) an entire library available via the world wide web.  IPL does not exist in physical space this presence in virtual space makes it special.  News libraries, corporate libraries, hospital libraries also make up and define these unique houses of information.  What are some other types of libraries other than your public library that you consider special?

The following is a clip of SIBL:  Science Industry and Busniess Library of the NYPL an example of a special library.
